What is the most important feature to you in wildstar?

Post by hardicon » Thu Oct 03, 2013 1:23 pm

Hey guys just kind of bored and after reading up on some stuff today at work just kind of wondering what is the feature so far that you are most interested in for Wildstar,

For me it is the housing. I wasn't even watching this game till I saw the housing video. That got me interested and then I started looking at some of the other stuff.

My very first game Asherons Call had housing and it really made the world feel alive to me. The most important part was the customization of the houses where you could hang stuff on your walls, or ceiling or outside your house to decorate the house. I would sometimes spend hours looking for stuff to put in my house or redecorating my house and for some reason it was fun even though I hate to do that in real life. Jeremy Gaffney was one of the original owners of Turbine and helped create AC so to see him working on this project is awesome. The housing video appears to me they are going to take AC housing to an extreme level which is gonna be great. I just don't want instanced housing, housing needs to be a part of the world for me not locked off into some instance somewhere. I know they are gonna put the houses up in the air but I really hope we have the opportunity to view the exteriors of other people house and show off our houses as we adventure or whatever. I know this kind of seems trivial to a lot of people but to me it is one thing that is kind of missing from a lot of mmos today.

So anyone else like me looking forward to housing the most or is some other feature got you more interested?

40 man raiding

Part from that, housing looks interesting too. I never seriously played an mmo with it so I'm definitely looking forward to that. Also, healing looks like it's really involving and different from pretty much everything I've played so that's an other thing I really wanna try.

Raiding, followed closely by housing.

To many things fighting for my top spot. Housing, large scale raiding, holy trinity, and warplots.

so far ... just about all of it.

Housing is what actually got my attention, but I am supremely interested in warplots and "crafting"

I say "crafting" because Carbine has claimed twice now that there will be "good" crafters, I love me a good experimental style crafting system, the more in depth the better, figuring out where and how to get rare materials or (please, please, please!) better quality materials is a point of personal pride. I am waiting with great anticipation for more details on those two features.

other than that I love to play hyper-moble classes so movement and pacing ... oh my, gettin over-excited.

-also I love that they are doing a proper beta and not just a stress test.

For me it would be more or less in this order:

1 - Questing with Guildmates
2 - Housing
3 - Instances with Guildmates
4 - Events with Guildmates
5 - Raids with Guildmates

The most important aspect of playing MMORPG's in general for me is the social interactiveness and re-playability (altaholic)... It's less about getting one maxed out toon and more about the journey and being able to play with like minded folks along the way... Otherwise you just burn yourself out on the game... And yeah, raids are fun, but rushing to end game and skipping out on everything else to focus on just one aspect of a game is a sure fire way to burn out... I'ld prefer having a game that you stick with for a long time...

I'm gonna say the gameplay itself.

I've played alot of different styles of games and the typical tab targeting in many of them is nice if I'm playing and also watching the latest syfy movie at the same time, but I've always loved action style combat. I mean, ever since the first Zelda game, I really enjoyed action based combat and I found it more engaging so I really had to pay attention. In many cases MMO flavor on action based combat has never seemed quite as good as this is in Wildstar.

The one caveat to that is that I'm really hoping to see some more ranged combat videos. In many I've watched so far, the ranged combat players seem to just attack and attack while the monsters come right up to them. I'm hoping to see some videos of some sort of kiting being performed sooner or later, because I like running around more than just standing still.

Also, I was considering writing limericks for my Chua to gallantly orate, should I choose to play one. Grrr, I wanna be a Mordesh too though! Hrmm. Maybe Haikus for him. He shall have background and flavor and pazzazz! Yes! He shall be dashing!
