I would be worried about that sneaky tactic if there was no sub. I think the sub will eliminate some of that stuff. I could see them offering things that you can get in game already, which would be fine with me. Using your Neverwinter example, perhaps yeah, you could buy some more bank slots if you had to have them NOW...or you could wait until you have in-game gold to buy them like everyone else.Shardreg wrote:Well, I am very happy about the subscription model - yay for that!Xryus wrote:Summary:

One alarm however does go off, reading that: "convenience" is a very flexible term, sadly.
Seeing how you've got 12 bank slots in Neverwinter and you'd need $6 to get 12 more, it's convenience alright - but it's also blatant cash mongering to start the player out with only 12 slots to begin with.
I hope Wildstar doesn't go down that "it's free, but it's really not" road.
Other than that, I am happy!

Little late to the party here but i applaud the WS team for going SUB with the Creed (plex) options it rewards committed players to your game as they will tend to be the folks who can farm the gold to buy the plex.
I agree with most folks that the $15 to me is basically just the ticket into a movie and that is 3 hours (max) of enjoyment and I am a big guy so i also get the large popcorn and a drink of some sort so that cost me another $15.
So moral of the story is:
--IF I SUB TO WILDSTAR i might just not get the popcorn and can lose some LBs in the process!
PS. Another issue i have with most cash shops is how invasive they are in the GUI...after every quest they they say (click here and you can get more stuff for $$$$) or just the obnoxious glistening cash shop icon that lights up neon to grab your attention!

Yeah, some cash shops are really annoying. I think GW2 and Rift do a decent job of not being in your face.
