Yup yup I hear ya. Keep in mind I've subbed for an ass-ton of games. Planet side, COH, WOW, LOTRO, DDO, AOC, CO, Rift, SWTOR. GW2 is the first game I had no sub. It was just nice not having that "pressure" of a sub. At the same time, buying character slots, bank and bag space ain't fun, although could work out to the same as a sub fee. The difference is I have the choice on when to pay. I suppose it comes down to 6 of one, half dozen of the other. As you said, I hope Wikdstar us a "Here, take my money!" game to the point that I don't even want to play another. Then the sub fee will be a non-issue as you stated.NightAngel wrote:I like the sub thing. I will pay for something if it's good. I want access to all content so for me it's good. I do understand about the feelings of needing to play out of wanting to get in your monies worth but if it's a good enough game, you'll play because you want to.

Re: WildStar General Article: Revenue Model Revealed
I think (please correct me if I'm wrong) he's talking about how raids will be random as far as how the mechanics work, so there will not be a set way to do a raid that you can pull up on YouTube. A sub will give devs way more flexibility to implement that.magicrules wrote:Mr.Puddlez wrote:I was getting ready to post all of the news...glad someone beat me to it. I cannot wait. To me....subs are a good thing...and I think they will be pumping out content. Also...dont forget raids will be random.
What do you mean?

Re: WildStar General Article: Revenue Model Revealed
I like the sub model. This November will be 9 years for me playing WoW. Now I haven't kept my sub up all that time, but I do feel I've gotten my value out of it. The F2P games I've tried were too restrictive. $10.00 for a bag...really. More money for action bars!? I don't think so.
I'll only sub to content if I feel it's worth it. I don't watch HBO 24 hours a day, but for the times I do watch it I feel I get my 10.00 worth. The addition of CREDD makes it even better for me since I usually rarely spend gold. If I could turn the few 100k I have in gold into sub time in WoW I would be very happy.
If guilds have a way to generate gold like they do in WoW that makes it even better. Guilds would have a way to reward members with game time, or use it for contests and such. I also feel the community could be better because people have a commitment to the game since they are paying a monthly fee.
I know there is an issue with people just not having the money to pay a fee. Hopefully generating enough gold will be easy enough for those players.

YIKES! Y'all should go on Wildstar's Facebook and read the comments on the article that they posted regarding this. It is U G L Y! no being civil there. Ah, people with their internet muscles. LOL!

Re: WildStar General Article: Revenue Model Revealed
I am happy with this
I have no issues with a sub, and think it will overall brings us better content. As for the whiners on the FB page, they can't make everyone happy, and I'd hate to see them try.

Overall this is a good thing. People who are dedicated to the game will be the ones to pay without complaining and thus make for a better community overall.
I have no problems paying for a sub. I've done it for years and only in the last year have a gone a few months with no sub playing F2P games...and yeah they can be too restrictive. I don't mind shelling out cash here and there for things I want (ie: GW2 - to pay for extra bank space and bag space or pretty cosmetic clothes
) as long as its not stupid expensive...like the $10.00 bag...that's just crazy.
I will be eagerly awaiting spring and will be happy to pay my 15 bucks a month to play. And who knows with their ingame currency...depending on how much we all obsess over playing (hehe) and how much the conversion cost will be, we could get out of that too!

I agree with NightAngel. I'll pay for something if it's good.

Re: WildStar General Article: Revenue Model Revealed
Excellent point. I would hate to see them bend to the will of the squeaky wheels. Their comment (within the article) regarding not watching the competition, that it's all about making a good game, well that made me happy. Sounds like they'll push ahead with their vision.Nionya wrote:I am happy with this![]()
