Good find, I gave this a look and it is very similar to how I play my warlock in HFC.

There is no question that my dps is terrible as destruction in heroic HFC.... I have no clue in what I am doing wrong, I have researched for hours and hours watched vids read theory crafting posts all to what I am doing now and all how I am stacking stats now with the exception of some say stack crit some say stack mastery ...... I stack mastery and enchant for mastery.

I open with a pot then incinerate x2 then immolate then conflagration only at a 2 proc use incinerate as a filler to generate burning embers and then hit dark soul and then chaos bolt x4 rinse repeat I have sacrifice and charred remains so I sacrifice my pet before the fight starts and have the buff for 1 hour.

My food is mastery 125 and I am runed and flasked with intellect

Every post I have read says to keep up immolate and generate BE so I can CB which I do.

Now with that said I have some honor gear I need to switch out but unfortunately the RNG gods hate me and I have not been getting anything yet from HFC. I have read about people not being able to raid because of low dps and a lot of times it's simply because of a gear issue but if it's a gear issue and the only upgrades can come out of HFC but your not allowed to raid because of low dps then how are you supposed to better your character at that point?

IMO and some fact ...... I see ppl doing 80K plus when this happens my dps is low low low following the rotation above. Now when the raid is even and falls down to lets say 30K? My dps increases on the meters to about 24-28K still low but increased from being in a raid with ppl that do 80-100K plus ...... now all the ppl doing that kind of damage have the gear and probably have a few set pieces too all which comes from HFC ( NOTE: I still do not have set pieces ) I DO however have my 3 crafted pieces and 715 trinket

So just a recap because I'm obviously having a little issue with the lock

Dps sucks ... ok need gear if I am following everything else ok.
Gear comes from HFC Raiding .... ok but can't get it because I get turned away keep getting denied from raid finder because ppl are on the mentality that you have to be ilvl 720 plus for heroic hfc or can't raid normally wit hthe guild because of dps being low.

Is there something else in the game somewhere that will increase my stats to make my character more powerful? I know its not me dieing or having a moving fight mechanic issue

Just curious cause I am at a loss maybe stack Crit ?

I have been healing on a shaman for a while too and since we need healers my shaman is 706 with a two piece set I might just switch to him But I would have to transfer from horde.

I can take constructive criticism but not from someone who forgets how they geared up to where they are now and have blinders on because their gear score is 725 plus and have no dps problems.

a lil help?

I understand your pain there sir... I had to fight an crawl as a monk dps to get into raids... hours of look up how to play my monk... hours at a training dummy.. just so I could get into normal raids...

Ppl on the lfr tool always want the higher I'll and it sucks... trust me. We all know this one.

Try and get it dirty dots. ... zahgore

They know how to play locks.. I sure don't.

Hey Rasser, I can't really advise on dps since I haven't played my destro lock since pandaland. But as for gearing up, do Tanaan and get the baleful tokens and upgrade then to 695 with the token you can buy with apexis crystals. Then upgrade those to 705 with valor. Will at least bump you up somewhat. Run mythic dungeons weekly, the items have the potential to bonus upgrade to 725 and while you're there, you get 300 valor to upgrade any pieces. Also do the weekly events that give a heroic cache, and the missions from your garrison and shipyard. Also work towards getting your legendary ring. All this can be a bit grindy. We try to put as many groups together as we can. Always ask in guild, you never know who might be planning on doing the same thing as you. You can even find questing buddies for Tanaan.

We do try to take as many people as possible, especially on lower hfc, so get in on those runs if possible. If we still struggle with a fight, we do have to drop people. Every week our chances improve. But upper, and especially Archie aren't on farm...We've also increased our alt nights, so get in on those too for attempts at upper on Normal.

Anyways, I hope I've helped somewhat, though I'm sure I've probably just told you what you already know.

GL. Let me know if I can help!

@Rasser,

I'm a little late to the party here, but in case you get a moment to check this, I'll give you a quick overview of my personal insights and research from playing a warlock.

Requirements
Rotational competency - means you need to be able to perform your rotation in a variety of situations without focusing the entirety of your attention on it.
Bossmods Addon - you need to be tracking environmental occurences so you can move and use CDs accordingly.
Personal/Raid CD tracker - this is less important but still makes a big difference; you need to know when your major procs are up, and be watching things like lust, the ring, etc. I use Weakauras.

If you have those things, I recommend then working your way down the following list and investigating each step. When I say 'check', what I effectively mean is - find someone in similar circumstances (use warcraftlogs) and compare yourself to them.
Example Link: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/rankings/8 ... bracket=15

Check
Check rotation - use websites (icy-veins is a fine basic resource), ensure you haven't made a basic assumption mistake, and look for tips on optimization, even if you think you've nailed it.
Check talent/glyph loadout - its fairly homogenous this expac but in certain places, having a suboptimal talent array can impact your numbers.
Check ilvl - dont bother making comparisons to people in other ilvl brackets, scaling with ilvl is enormous this expac. I recommend using warcraftlogs (grievance uploads all raids) and comparing your numbers to those of someone with a similar ilvl.
Check tier - tier slaps on a ludicrous amount of DPS, we're talking minimum 10%, much more in certain cases.
Check ring - another 5 - 8% under normal raid conditions, or absurd numbers on bosses that are farmed by groups with high average ilvls.
Check trinkets - DSI, Class trink and the Orb of Voidsight will all situationally alter DPS by significant amounts (I'd ballpark 5%, but that's completely out of my ass. There are stats around on the web if you care to investigate).

Those are the basics. If it all looks kosher, the next bit is a little more complicated and requires more time.

Check ability uptimes and distribution - find someone of your spec and ilvl on a fight of similar duration, who has good numbers, and do a side by side comparison of ability distributions and uptimes. If yours are different, investigate why.
Check ability timings - this is HUGE. Here's an example...
Me: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/V2 ... s&source=3
97th Percentile Parse: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/pP ... s&source=6

Those are the buff uptimes for myself on my fun-run with Grievance last week, and a warlock who parsed very highly. I did fine... but only 60th percentile for my 726 ilvl on a 4:11 fight duration. He parsed 97th (for bracket) on a 4:30 fight. Gorefiend DPS-whoring is about maximizing feast DPS. If you look at my buffs, they're garbage. Late potion and doomguard use that missed my first DS and missed the ring. Abysmal. Look at the spike damage - I went to 400k dps when the ring popped. The 97th percentiler popped all his abilities on the mark and hit 750k dps when the ring popped. Massive difference. (@RLs: I do apologize, that's embarrassing and I was doing it all run. Very rusty, haven't raided properly on that toon in months :( )

It's by no means infallible, but by investigating these things you should be able to zero in on any significant problem areas you're having.

I'm happy to chat in more detail if you'd like. Contact me via message here, or find me in game.
