When you fully unlock a class (all the abilities and talents in the class atlas) you will get a class symbol. The one for Paladin is pretty awesome, so that makes it pretty mandatory for high-end content in Skyforge.

Lol ok so I will be leveling that one first lol get it out of the way. Seems weird that for an open ended game they would sink so much into one symbol. Going to be a lot of paladins the first few weeks :)

Thank you :)

Anything in the post is just suggested. It is not a mandatory symbol. I advocate play what you like, we will always find room for people no matter what class they play :D

It'll be a while before we hit raids, and ample time to clean up the paladin class for the symbol before then (you'll probably have 2 maybe three classes "done" before raid ready).

Btw, the Paladin symbol isn't mandatory, just really nice if you aren't perfect at avoiding boss "whoop yo ass" type attacks. It caps the maximum damage received by any one attack to 10% of your max health (it has a 70 second cool down). It's just nice for raiding incase you oops and don't avoid that big attack, you only lose 10% instead of getting dead.

Nothing is stopping you from doing Paladin first, it's just easy(easier) to complete classes after you finish your primary. Instead of class sparks as rewards, you get universal sparks; so at that point you could keep playing say Cryomancer and just use the universal sparks to unlock the Paladin class tree.

As has been stated, there is no reason to do Paladin first. You can always play what you like, and if you feel you want/need the Paladin Symbol for your build you can fill it out and get the symbol without actually playing the class. All that will be explained to you as you play the game more and figure out the different sparks and what they can be used for. Bottom line (as has been said) play what you like. The rest will sort itself out.

For myself, I will be playing Zerker and maxing that out first, then I will use whatever sparks I have to fill out Pally and get the symbol while also unlocking other classes I might find interesting. It will be awhile before we have to worry with high-end content. I am interested in Warlock as well and maybe Knight. Will have to see how it goes. :)

For me, my preferred class will be my primary goal to get to... Rather than wasting too much time maxing out a class I don't plan to play in the long run, i'm going to be focusing my efforts on reaching the class I really intend to play, and then seeing how it goes from there...

No matter the game, I'm never-ever in a rush to get to Raid Content, it'll come when it comes... My primary goals in MMORPG's do not revolve around the end game, instead I enjoy the journey towards the end-game, and seeing all that a game has to offer...

It should be noted, the "Greatness" quest (order unlock) requires 2100 prestige to obtain.
