I am having the most difficult time deciding what my main will be.
Will I be an Exile Granok who wields the biggest sword he can find, chopping down mountain tops and building camps in their place? Or what about a Mordesh Spellslinger who is using the magic runic technology to find his way to the cure for his race.
And then there is the Dominion, A Cassian Esper that wields illusion spells like a psychtropic drug, causing enemies to LOSE THEIR MINDS. Oh and the attitude to match. And who can't think about being a Chua, any class. They just look f'n crazy.
It seems most have found their character for the release tomorrow morning. Anyone else having a hard time? Vent your frustrations with me! I am going to try and be up at 3am (EST) for the launch, but if the baby is sleeping, so am I.

Re: Its such a hard choice!
I'm right there with you. I usually play a healer, so at first it was which one and I decided on an Esper. I also love both the Engineer and the Stalker and was going to make them my alts. However, this morning I woke up and was craving the engineer. I love pet classes, robots and big explosions. The only drawback is I want to play an Aurin. It's now 8 hours and 45 minutes to launch and I'm thinking I'll give up my Aurin and go with a human engineer. This also means the my name SchrodingersCat doesn't fit like it would with an Aurin. So I'm thinking I'll create my Aurin Esper with that name and go with LadyLovelace for my engineer, after Ada Lovelace, Lord Byron's daughter, who worked with Charles Babbage and created the first algorithm to work on the Analytical Engine and is considered the first programer.
So ATM it's LadyLovelace
Human
Engineer
Scientist
Along with
SchrodingersCat
Aurin
Esper
Settler
MsMuon
Aurin
Stalker
Soldier

Re: Its such a hard choice!
I know what you mean. I'm also still torn between deciding on what my main is gonna be. I'm trying to decide between Stalker, Engineer and possibly Spellslinger. I really want my main to be a Mechari, so it's basically between Stalker and Engi. And then I saw the Medic's raid gear, and all I could say was DAYUUUUUUUMMMMMMM!
Though I probably won't roll with medic since I've been researching so much on Stalkers and Engineers. I hate being melee, especially in Wildstar, but I also love doing tons of burst and being really mobile. So I'm leaning towards Engineer, since I like their range as well as AOE, (which Stalkers also lack) but their lack of mobility and bad bot AI is a bit off-putting. Though, if I do end up using the bots, I'll be a walking army of robots! Mechari with my two bot homies and the scanbot just strolling around like we own the place. Hah! Look at all those fleshy meatbags!
At any rate, whichever class I'll choose, my alt is most likely gonna be a Spellslinger.

@Schrodinger: I look forward to fighting on the side of the Exiles with you. It sounds like you got a nice little story brewing there for LadyLoveLace. I know it can be hard to let go of an awesome name you had invented, especially when you are looking so forward to playing Aurin. Hang in there, eventually the indecision will break and it will become clear which is the right choice!
@LtRadczek: Now that I have chosen the side of Exiles I cant be seen having friendly "chats" with the enemy. Okay Okay, i had to get that out. It sounds like if you hate being melee, then you should stay away! If you know your alt is going to be a spellslinger maybe the decision should be between spellslinger and engineer. Sounds like you have a nice back story to the engineer which will keep you excited about the character more then just how raid gear looks. Specially if you haven't been all about the heals either.
Good luck gents' and keep me posted on your decisions!
Okay, so after spending a couple hours just reading the history of races and factions, watching countless youtube videos, etc. etc. (it's a slow day at work), I have decided on Exile Granok. This "Today, most Granok are battle-tested, hard-drinking mercenaries," pretty much solidified my decision. Now the next decision that layeth before me is which class. They all sound appealing and for different reasons.
A Warrior named Mazuma. The warriors look awesome because of how cool their abilities look. You get to whirlwind with a HUGE blade, you create a whirring blade of doom with your arm gadget, tether, rockets, it goes on.
An Engineer named Lovecannon. Pets and BFG's. I mean on a Granok the gun is going to be BIG. An army of robot pets? Yeah, that's pretty cool too.
A Medic named something tough that has yet to be determined. I have tanked in MMO's and I have topped the DPS chart's. The medic gets to dual wield "healing phaser thingys." They can damage and/or heal. The healing option sounds like it could be fun. Supporting others ya know. Also, you could prolly do a cool hybrid build for pvp. or maybe they are just awesome in pvp because of the heals.
I have been staying away from the ZOMG SOOO OP videos and forums posts, because lets be honest, that was all beta. More importantly though, I want to play what I think will be FUN and interact with the world thusly. I enjoy having some sort of back story as to why I am playing this particular toon (it must be the D&D in me).

Re: Its such a hard choice!
@b3ek3r Just saw a new interview with one of the Devs. He loves the Granok, his toons name is MtCrushmore.

Re: Its such a hard choice!
I'm gonna have to find that interview. Holy crap that is a sweet name. hhmmmm now I must try and rethink my name choices.
Re: Its such a hard choice!
Just play what you think you will enjoy the best. Be it on the exile side or dominion side. You can't go wrong because you will still be in Grievance. So just play what you think you will enjoy the most.

Re: Its such a hard choice!
Oh, I am going to. It is just fun hashing out my brainstorming over the forums. Keeps me excited and hopefully others entertained.
