Twas the week before headstart

'Twas three days before headstart, and all through the lua
not a character was played, not even a Chua
The freezer was stocked with nonperishable foods
So I wouldn't have to shop til I leveled my dudes

The appearance codes copied, all saved to text edit
While I whined and complained about the wait time on reddit.
And with my reserved names, for toon and for guild,
I'd just begun wondering how the time would be killed

When out on the forums there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to the Twitter to see what was the matter.
Hashtag-Wildstar I searched very quick,
then sorted through a sea of cute Aurin pics.

The subject that played upon everyone's lips,
was the headstart that lay right at our fingertips,
but then I stopped scrolling, my halt quite abrupt.
An update from official - a server was up!

Still beta, some asked? Or more server tests?
Did it really matter? Our thirst never rests.
I brought up my launcher to see it was true,
one server was up, no characters in view.

More rapid than eagles, the gamers they came,
and they feverishly gobbled up character names.
Moredeath and Bigchesty, Yourmom, and Cupcake,
Datbooty, Pinkypie, and oh, for Pete's sake...

But we could all play, so it was all good!
And there was much exultation in the noob neighborhood.
The chat was familiar, the same old wisecracks,
the same speculation about nerfs and expacs.

I made all my characters, one for each class,
but then I found out that my joy would pass.
It was just a test server, we learned, it was true!
But I played all day long - what else could I do?

No different from beta, or even ops week.
But I loved Carbine, still, though t'were tears on my cheeks.
They boasted not at all, but went straight to their work,
Filling Wildstar with wonder, in spite of the jerks.

We've had so much beta, and ops week galore.
Not one single /bug was ever ignored.
They came and played with us - a great beta finish!
Then gave us MORE up time, knowing just how to win us.

Rowsdowswers and Chuas, Big guns and bots,
Big rocky dudes and creepy-cute Lopp.
And when headstart begins and our real toons we make,
I'll have one message for Carbine: Way to go, cupcake!
