It was mentioned on the live stream today and has happened to me, so I thought I'd bring it up.
Make sure your Wildstar password is unique from any other passwords you regularly use, /especially/ other MMOs. It is common practice for hackers to take a list of known username/emails and passwords they have acquired in the past and use that as a dictionary attack against a new MMO. Guild Wars 2 said they saw a lot of that kind of activity coming out of China in the early days of their game, which is why they eventually forced a pasword reset.
If you've ever had your account hacked, you can almost be assured that someone is going to try that username/password combo on Wildsatar within the first month.

Security Tip
Re: Security Tip
I'd recommend everybody use Lastpass or something equivalent for web browsing sites and use unique generated passwords that are as long as possible for the site. If you're using a unique generated password for Wildstar, it's very unlikely your account will be hacked unless your PC itself is somehow hacked. If you have a smartphone, use 2-factor on your email account associated with Wildstar if possible.
Re: Security Tip
It was also talked about today during Nexus Report that 2-factor authentication with a smart phone app was on the way, possibly in today's build or in by launch. If not I would expect shortly after.
Re: Security Tip
They mentioned using Google's authenticator which is already in place and its like GW2 uses. You can already set this up today to secure your google account as well.Bendar wrote:It was also talked about today during Nexus Report that 2-factor authentication with a smart phone app was on the way, possibly in today's build or in by launch.
