Here's an article that came out regarding the raids as well. Interesting note from the article is that from the guilds that have been testing the raids only one guild has killed the first 3 bosses in the 40 man raid. That says alot right there.

honestly, the elder gem gear catch up mechanism is genius. They have made it so they don't need an alternate currency for high tier rewards, they already have it in place and they can use it forever. Simply adjust the prices as time goes on.

The biggest draw for me is that you have to have beaten the encounter in order to be able to purchase the catch up gear from the vendor. That is amazing to me. I LOVE IT!
