So there are articles out there about end game, but I thought I'd give a quick run down of the types of things you can do.
Dailies - The first hub opens at 50 or when you finish the quest line in Grimvault. Crimson Isle is the only hub open in beta currently, but I've seen 2 distinct additional zones as well as an area that has a reputation vendor and implies there will be dailies as there as well. This would mean 4 questing zones for dailies right off the bat. Yes rep grinding can be annoying, but it took me about a week and a half to max the rep on Crimson Isle. The repeatable group quests are also a good source of end game rune components.
Public Quests - There are a few that can be done at 50 and can result in gear upgrades. These exist at all levels of course, but there are also some that are meant to be tackled at 50 specifically. I've only seen them require one tank so far, but they could get more complicated by release.
Veteran Dungeons/Adventures - This is the main content people know of at 50. These are pretty much doable right at 50. I'd recommend tanks try to gear up a bit first or have a patient group as the damage increase is heavy, but they can be done right at 50. There is a total of 4 dungeons and 5 adventures that can be run as veteran mode. Add in going for specific medals, this is a system based on total deaths and optional objectives/challenges completed, there is a lot to go for here.
Raids - There are 2 raids that will be ready at release. Currently the 20 man raid is testable except for the last boss and is being tuned for groups that are semi-geared in veteran equipment. The 40 man has only been privately tested and not much is known about it yet. There are vendors that can sell you raid quality drops based on if you have killed a specific boss. This is good news for those that are unlucky with the loot tables and have hope of at least getting some guaranteed gear.
Crafting - The final tier of crafting required end game materials to learn recipes and fully expand your crafting repertoire. Each skill has uses at end game.
Elder Gems - These are awarded for earning "levels" at the cap. There is a limit to how many you can get each week, but the xp is from questing/dungeons/grinding and you earn them incidentally as a result. They can be used to buy gear, extra amp points, extra skill points, new mounts, mount flair, bells and whistles, etc. They are earned quickly and items cost as little as 60 gems up to 500ish range. A good comparison is after doing the dailies on the Crimson Isle I earned 31 Elder Gems for the effort and the weekly cap looks to be about 200 Elder Gems weekly can be earned.
PVP- You've got your warplots, arenas and battlegrounds. Warplots can be extremely fun when supplemented by architect add ons and group coordination.
