Am I reading the release notes correctly? There will be 4 beta weekends between now and release and that is it?

Honestly, I'm pretty happy about no full-open beta, they are usually very destructive to communties, and pretty much since WoW devolve into people wishing it was WoW.

I was pretty sure that I read a Carbine rep say that open beta would start about a month before launch .... I wouldn't be surprised to see beta open up after that last weekend.

I recall that as well now that you mention it. Which means those are most likely expanded population closed beta weekends.

Now I'm wondering if different retailers will have different bonus' like they did with Rift.

I found a tweet from the official wildstar account. Their answer was yes there will be an open beta, but they didn't follow up on any of the questions asked after that.

I would say that open beta could be considered the beta weekends for preorders instead of a full on open beta. Unless they just really wanna stress the servers before launch.

Lots of companies have changed to beta weekends before launch instead of all out open beta.

They said there would be an open beta, it will happen about a month from launch and that's about it, they said nothing about the length of it, could just be that one these weekend beta's is an open beta.
