Clan Ranks and Benefits

Post by Lotharen » Tue Sep 01, 2015 11:40 am

A look at how clans progress was just posted today. Heres the information:

While you will reap plenty of reputation rewards through battling enemy Faction members, those rewards are best for your clan.

Clan Ranks

Clans are created at Rank 1 with basic benefits, like a Clan Vault and Noticeboard. YouÔÇÖll want to increase your Clan Rank as it provides ever-greater benefits. To increase your rank you have to meet certain requirements (detailed below). Some of the requirements include collecting substantial numbers of items, some of which (Soulstones and Faction Insignias) can only be obtained through faction-based daily quests.

In our World PvP article we talked about how you can earn Prestige PointsÔÇöa temporary PvP currency gained by doing battle with the opposing faction. After collecting enough Prestige Points, you can gain reputation within your faction, and you can also use these Prestige Points to purchase Faction Insignias from your factionÔÇÖs Coin Exchange Merchant.

Most items required to increase your clanÔÇÖs Rank are obtained through gameplay that involves the clan to work together, or to honor their faction.
Soulstones and Faction Insignias can, for instance, be obtained from certain enemy faction mobs, or by completing faction daily quests.

At the beginning of Alpha our goal was to level up the clan rank as fast as possible to try and see how long the process will take to reach max level. With only a couple of us casually working on clan rank we managed to get to rank 2 of 15 by the end of CBT1, so this is going to take some time and a lot of work from everyone that will be playing the game.

In order to level, the clan will be dependent on its members to make donations of Gold, Soulstones, and Faction Insignia's. This is where we are going to run into a wall during early game.

Gathering and donating Faction Insignia's should not be a major problem. Faction Insignia's are not used as anything but clan donations. So, please run your faction dailies every chance you get. Faction Insignia's can only be deposited in stacks of 5, you will receive 1 Insignia per faction quest you complete. Very simple, run 5 faction quests and you can make a donation.

The issue arises with the Gold and Soulstones. At low levels your personal funds will be lacking to say the least. You will need your own money for feeding your weapon, breakthrough and evolve stages, crafting, quick traveling, upgrading soul shield pieces and many more features of the game. Money can only be deposited 1 gold at a time, the game does not allow for random amounts to be donated.

Now moving on to Soulstones. Soulstones will not be used by players very early on in game, but that doesn't mean that you should start depositing them as soon as you get your hands on them. They will be used during some of the later stages of your weapon evolution. When donating Soulstones they have to be given in stacks of 10.

Something to keep in mind: the clan bank in this game doesn't work like a normal bank. For the most part it is not a place that we can store and retrieve items at will, when you make a donation to the clan it not something you can undo. Once you put your gold, soulstones or insignia's in the bank they cannot be removed by anyone including the clan leader.

At launch when the Grievance clan is created we will have 50 available slots at rank 1, and a max of 80 at rank 15. Alts may not be something that we can afford to have in our main clan, but if it becomes an issue we will look into creating an Alt-Guild.

In conclusion, I feel that early on it will be best to have all clan members working towards personal progression, helping each other with crafting, gathering, dungeon runs, and above all else making sure that everyone is having a good time. We will level the clan as more members start to hit end game and can actually afford to donate items at will.

We are open to ideas, comments and questions, so if anyone has any we would love to hear them.
