Paths
Paths
I am still unsure of what path to take.
I really love the idea of the Scientist, getting to read all of the lore books and dig deeper into the story...
Also, the Settler is obsessive..I mean, I can not go a few steps without getting sidetracked to pick up stuff....It's EVERYWHERE!!
aaannndd..the explorer, it's pretty darn cool to click on a dirt pile and get sent underground to destroy a bunch of spiders and their eggs...
My question being, since I ruled out Soldier..and I am going to main an Aurin Esper..what do you all recommend..
I am really so torn between them!

Re: Paths
I plan to do explorer on my main, simply because I love to EXPLORE! I love going into every corner of the map and seeing if I can get to that highest peak or not. I will eventually do them all but I am really looking forward to what the Explorer path has to offer

Re: Paths
I am definitely going Settler on my main character. As Nionya said, that stuff is everywhere and goes with my gathering addiction. Buffs are especially nice too.

Re: Paths
Like Raille said the group summons the Scientist gets is going to be pretty cool.
Scientist's also can get random buffs by scanning the many plants in Nexus. For my play style I like the scientist better because the majority of their content happens right along side your quests. That's my major issue with Explorer.

Re: Paths
My limited experience with them while participating in a few beta weekends gave me the following insights on the paths:
Explorer - After the Starter Zone. this path gave me a ton of rather time consuming quests to accomplish involving the exploration of the zone you're in... But not always a clue as to how to find the locations in question... Felt kind of like a treasure hunt where you had to check every nook and cranny to finish the Exploration quests in the zone, which took more time then the normal quests did... So this is my least favorite even though it is great for folks who are into this sort of thing...
Scientist - Most of the quests could be accomplished while doing your normal questing... But, you do sometimes have to compete with a lot of other players on the resources you need to scan... The only time consuming aspect of this path was needing to find every Data Cube in each zone (which involves a small bit of exploration)... There are even some hidden areas you can reveal with this path... This is the path I'm going with out the gate when it goes live...
Settler - If you're into resource gathering, which sometimes can be accomplished while doing normal quests, than this is a nice path to go with... The resources seem to be abundant, although you sometimes have to compete with other players... And using those resources to either build buffing stations or keep buffing stations going longer is a nice side effect of accomplishing these path quests...
Soldier - Beyond your typical, go kill this guy or go kill this many of that creature quests, you do get a lot of hold and kill quests as well... In essence you defend a location against waves of baddies that increase in difficulty as time progresses... The upside is that other players can help with those hold and defend missions along side of you, at any time... The downside is that the more folks that help out, the bigger the waves will get... But if killing baddies is what ya like, then this is the path for you...
No matter which path you go with, you do not always need to complete all the path quests before moving onto the next zone... You can always go back later to complete them... For me, I like to finish a zone completely before moving onto the next, so Explorer was too much of a pain, but every player is different... Go with what you like after trying them all... Or even go with them all across all your toons...

Re: Paths
I think I am going to end up with a bunch of soldiers if I stick with the game. I played a few min of settle and it just seems like it would be way to tedious for me... Explorer would be awesome but I am terrible at jump puzzles and the like... as for Scientist the lore would be awesome but I would forget it all anyway.
