Awesome read, especially if you're the kind of person who likes looking under the hood. I'm really glad that the team did take the harder route and write their own Engine, rather than using one off the shelf. I think in the long run, that decision will turn out to be quite smart.

Re: WildStar: The Engine Interview
The Wildstar dev's have to be the most open group of MMO developers ever. I thought ArenaNet was open. But its like you can ask these guys anything and they'd tell you.
Me "I just wanted to know how do you go about deciding what type of drawz to wear when making an MMO?"
DaGaffer "Well it depends on what day it is and if I feel like silk or cotton... but the most important part is will the PLAYERS like it."
Well done Carbine. My body is ready. Please take my money.

lol, I think this has the makings of the best MMO ever title.
Every new bit of info I read makes me want to play it more and more. This is a game I could beta test to max level and still be ready to relevel when the game goes live!

Re: WildStar: The Engine Interview
I agree with DBT. The devs are the best. Their open to all ideas and are really pulling the community in to make Wildstar something special. Its a breath of fresh air unlike blizzard. Every time i hear the name Ghostcrawler i vomit in my mouth

Re: WildStar: The Engine Interview
Very good information there. I like the idea of them making the engine to suit the type of game they are making. I also like the generic use of labels for the different systems, no confusion there!

100% agree homegrown is the best way to go!Críostóir wrote:Awesome read, especially if you're the kind of person who likes looking under the hood.
