Aliah, I have been programming my scanbot for when we finally embark on Nexus. Only scouting missions have been sent out, but I am told it will not be too much longer until we are allowed to venture forth. I am excited to discover what the flora and wildlife hold for us. Maybe, maybe we will be able to find a cure and this nightmare can end. I hope you are still safe. I think about you constantly, every day. It is not so bad here. Our newly acquired friends are kind to us, overall. Rockbiter has helped my spirits but some are less friendly. Not that they mean to be that way. They are obviously horrified by our people. The Aurin seem to be the most compassionate, but it is hard for me not to be irritated when I'm constantly met with a sad gaze. The humans are downright frightened and are mostly unable to hide it. This is not the case with all of them of course, but for a large portion of them. I understand, when I am calm, but sometimes it angers me. Most of the Granok could care less. To them we are simply another group of people outcast by the Dominion.
A sad thing happened today. I had to eliminate Pucky. It started to go bad. It went from being a fun companion who was a great help in my work to having seizures and random blackouts. I made it quick, while it was sleeping. I have already dissected Pucky and found that it has helped me further in my work by being dead. I did not expect that. Perhaps now I will discover its sex, I could never tell. I believe that I will be able to use Pucky's corpse once I am done with it. We will attempt to weaponize it and leave it for other chua to discover, thinking it to be a wounded comrade, not knowing it is a bomb. We shall see how they like being the victim of their own joke. Rockbiter assures me it will be funny. I don't see the humor. Vermin being used to destroy vermin. Sounds wonderful, just not funny.
Aliah, It pains me that I have no contact with you, that you have to remain hiding. I cannot wait to see you again after I am cured. I cannot wait for you to see all my messages to you, that I thought of you always! I love and miss you Aliah!

I find that these games are more fun if invested in the character. I'm glad you're enjoying it, and I'm sure we'll have fun dealing with whatever the Dominion and Nexus throws at us!

Aliah, things are getting under way here. The scouting missions have proven to be increasingly fruitful in my studies. Many of the scouting parties have been thoughtful enough to bring back various herbs. Spirovine in particular has been a fantastic boon. I have been able to create a medishot using Spirovine that is a much better quality that what we are used to. I have also found ways to change its structure so that the benefit delivery system operates differently. It is no cure for us, not by a long shot, but it does help our people in the scouting parties when they run into trouble.
My scanbot is all ready to go. I am excited to get into the field myself, but I have been told that we are still setting up Thayd as I record this. Thayd is growing to be a hub for our studies and exploration of Nexus that has thus far resisted any and all threat from the Dominion. As of now, they seem to be colonizing and more involved in their own exploration of Nexus than focusing on us. You know that will not last long. There is no "live and let live" when it comes to the Dominion.
I have noticed that Rockbiter has not returned from the last scouting mission. I feel some worry over this. He is one I would call a friend and it is not like him to not report back. The party he was with stated that they lost sight of him while doing some recon of an ancient Eldan facility in which some Dominion troops were also investigating. Everyone fears the worst, but as of now there is no definite of his status, good or bad.
I have what the humans refer to as "cabin fever". I have buried myself in science, which you know I adore, however I am desperate to land on Nexus and do some active studies. The only break in the monotony is the occasional patch work I can do on the returning injured scouts. I have been invited to some recreational activities on the ship, but I have not taken part as of yet. Most of the humans and aurin are awkward around us and most of us tend to keep to ourselves. Although the Granok are quite accepting and welcoming, they tend to be very boisterous and loud. I suppose I need to get over myself, as you would often suggest, and attempt to be more social. It used to slightly rub me the wrong way when you would say that, even though deep down I knew it was true. Now, I would give anything to hear those words come from your lips directly.
As always Aliah, I love and miss you.

Captain-
Going to need my pay doubled. Mordesh weren't part of this deal. Neither was research. I said I'd guard important, relevant people. And before you get to replying with any of that "strength in numbers" or "enemy of my enemy" rot pucky, don't bother, ain't no convincing me. They're junk. There's one here in my coverage area, thinks he's a medic, spends his days dissecting chua, all serious-like and saying he can make a weapon of 'em. Chua.
Hey, sorry, changed my mind about that double pay.
Make it triple, or I'm out.

Perhaps you misunderstand the dire need for the ugliness of war. You have been exiled as have I. The Dominion are a conquering cancer in the universe. You know this. We must do what must be done in order to preserve our freedom. If that means taking their monsters and making them more monstrous and sending them back, so be it. As my missing friend Rockbiter would say, "man up". In addition, there is no thought about my being a very accomplished medic, that is fact.
