Streaming and CBT

Just a heads up, because the only answer I could find on streaming in the Revelation forums came from players who were saying that there is no NDA so go ahead and stream. I wanted a more official answer about logos and streaming and whatnot, it seemed a little odd to me that there wouldn't be one. So I am posting my ticket, and their response here for anyone who is wondering something similar.
You
Hello. This is not a problem with a payment or anything, but I do have a question about CBT and your streaming policies.

I wanted to stream CBT and beyond on Twitch, for fun not profit. I have a lot of people interested in the game who want to see the initial game play. I wanted to know if this was ok to do or not. I read from players that there is no NDA for you guys, but I want to make sure so I do not get in trouble when the day comes.

Also if I can stream, I would like to use static images like logos for Revelation and my.com on a custom overlay screen for my stream, and was wondering if these images were allowed to be used since I am in no way affiliated with your company. Just covering my bases for the big day.

Thanks in advance Revelations Team. Have a great day!

Kate

Dear Kate,

Thank you for patiently waiting for our response to this inquiry.

As for the NDA - this information will be disclosed with the start of CBT.

We are not ready to share policies yet. Stay tuned and follow the news on our site for all further announcements: https://ro.my.com/en/news

Unfortunately, we cannot allow using our logo on your stream, as it might be considered as an official one.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks for posting this Kate! I'm curious about the NDA as well, since they haven't really said if there is going to be one or not. I just would like to know if we can post screenshots of the game as we travel thru the CBT. :D

Hmmm, well that response is a small surprise considering all the videos that folks have made to their hearts delight. At least they replied in timely fashion.

In my honest opinion, I don't think this game will be under any kind of nda. It's a bit late for that considering all the info that's already out.

Indeed Shiera =) and I agree Creed. I just wanted to cover bases though since all I could find was answers from players, and in my experience, forum dwellers sometimes spout conjecture as fact, lol. I have a feeling that I will be able to stream it, but we will see. =)

*edit* also I was impressed, I sent the ticket at 5am and got the response not even an hour later. They were on that one. lol I must have caught some support guy getting his coffee. lol although 5am here = 1pm at their office. so after lunch. ;)

From this thread

https://ro.my.com/forum/thread/12148-up ... /?pageNo=1

official RO my.com moderator question and answer forum

Q: Am I allowed to stream the CBT, or record videos while playing?
A: The Closed Beta phases are not subject to an NDA so you are not only perfectly within your rights to stream if you wish to, but also encouraged to do so if that is something you enjoy doing."

Then from an Eterna Gaming interview with the producer http://www.eternagaming.com/news/exclus ... on-online/

E.G: Will people be able to stream CBT content or will there be an NDA?
F.A: The first tests during in the testing phase will be under NDA, but in later stages when we open up to a bigger group, still during CBT, we wonÔÇÖt have an NDA in place.

Seems perfectly clear to me. :?:

I hope they do open it up soon. I actually found and fell in love with Grievance 3+ years ago watching the Wildstar discussions we once had. I'm looking forward to one or more of our streamers jumping all over this one. Our streams have been one of the best recruiting tools, and they seem to me to bring in some really great people to the family.

Our Wildstar streams were some of our first. And yes they did bring in alot more great Grievance members. Would be awesome to see a Revelation stream run thru the Beta.

Trying to break into the world of streaming. I don't have any viewers unless I have people in BDO testing the stream for me. lol but I just started. I feel it would be weird to just talk to an empty room during the stream. =P still no clue about all that. lol But I would love to cut my teeth on Revelation. Hoping they let us. =)
