Do you really have to bid on dungeon drops with your personal gold? If so 8s this the only Avenue for getting dungeon drops?

Just wondering because if so this seems like it would be a system skewed towards the more unscrupulous players that buy gold from the seemingly endless horde of gold sellers plaguing the channels.

Yes you do have to bid on drops in a dungeon. Just remember that the price the top bidder pays gets spilt among the rest of the party.

There are a couple of different loot options but they all have their flaws. There is the bid system which is okay if you are running with friends or clan mates, or if you are trying to make a little money off the items others are bidding on. On the other hand if you are after a specific item others can make it a pain for you to get. There are also free for all, round robin, and master loot. All of these could be exploited in one way or another. If there is a certain item you are looking for ask in TS for some assistance, there is always someone willing to help you get your items.

I've been a part of several guild groups where we help eachother run dungeons to get specific items. You can take your chance with PUGS and I've had no bad experiences there either, but if i REALLY needed something and was having a difficult time, I ran it with a couple guild mates.

^ What they said ^

If you bid the amount determines how much people want it. Then it depends if they don't need it typically people in pugs will pass (ex soul shields they already have). Sometimes costume items can go for a few silver but that's because either people want it or they will sell it on the Market (if cat suits).

I'd say its something you have to experience yourself! :) I've never had an overwhelmingly terrible time.
