In it for the long haul HOPEFULLY
In it for the long haul HOPEFULLY
Hey everyone!
In order for you to get to know me better I've decided to provide you information on my gaming disorder. It's gotten a lot better as I've gotten older, but typically I have issues sticking with MMO's for more than a month or two. I love the pre-launch phase, especially in a guild where we are all excited and the air is electric with anticipation, but sometimes I wake up one morning and can't bring myself to log in. I HATE this about myself and am always wishing I can change. Typically this happens when I wait a really long time for a game, and am involved heavily in alpha/ beta testing and I burn myself out. The other reason is typically I'm always chasing that "i hope this is the place i call home" feeling that I've been looking for since I left Everquest before the Luclin expansion in the early 2000's. (this is part of the reason im building a game right now)
I think I have a good shot at staying with Blade and Soul for a while for the following reasons:
1. I've never been at launch of a game with Grievance before and you are all really awesome and down to earth. I've felt like a veteran when really I'm very new. You guys do a wonderful job of making new players feel like they've always been a part of the organization and that is RARE on the internet.
2. I have known about Blade and Soul for a LONG time, but did not actively follow it because it seemed so FAR out when NCSOFT put up their teaser page a few years ago.
3. I've been in 2 weekend beta tests and did not make it past level 15ish on any character. I've only tested out 4 characters and liked them all. No pre-burn out on Beta.
4. The combat is really fun, but in a less hectic and rigid way unlike how Tera or Wildstar feels to me. It never felt like a chore and felt really comfortable the way they have the combos and default keybindings set up. Very fluid.
5. I am not emotionally invested in this game to the point of deeming it the MMO Messiah and am avoiding soul crushing disappointment since I haven't placed it on an unrealistic pedestal.
besides all this, I've just upgraded to the Master Founders Pack to provide monetary incentive to stick around and also 90 days of Premium to further solidify that incentive. I know this is a lot to ask, but I'd love if you all could hold me accountable a little bit and ask me where the heck I've been if you don't see me for a couple days. Ping me here on the forums. DON'T LET ME ESCAPE! lol
But seriously, I'm really excited to be a part of my first Grievance MMO launch and have high hopes for our game time together. Once we get into the swing of things, I'd like to set up a 1 night a week streaming or recording of a play session with a guild group either doing arena, world pvp, PVE content, or whatever else we want. I find I do best sticking with games when I have a good core group of people to play with consistently.
This post has gone on far too long, but I needed a break from work! Hope to talk to you all soon and would love to hear about your expectations or thoughts on all this.
Sincerely,
~Eldaran

This was a mostly tongue in cheek post, but really I want to know about how excited you are for the game release. I've been on some serious hype trains in the past, but I haven't seen a lot of craziness around BnS.

Considering yourself being held accountable!
I seriously could have written your opening post, I am pretty much the same way.
I get into a new MMO play it for a month or two and then just fade away. I plan on not doing that with BnS as it is the first MMO I have played in awhile that I cannot wait to get back into.
My main issue is always time, I have so many things vying for my attention it can be hard to make time to game. I can also add lack of a good group/guild to play with regularly has made me quit more than a few MMOs. Hopefully Grievance and I gel and that will not be an issue.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us. I watched the North American arena invitational recording on Twitch last night and got me really psyched even though im no PvP pro. I'm more looking forward to group oriented stuff not 1v1 pvp though id like to do group arena.ZombieCat wrote:Considering yourself being held accountable!

Re: In it for the long haul HOPEFULLY
Join the club!
I have been looking for my next forever MMO, haven't stayed in many MMOS over 3-6 months in the past 5-8 years. GW2 was the exception, I played fro nearly a year. But I have lost interest in many games when I hit what I call the Fun Wall.
For me this is typically due to lack of PvP content. I like to PVE and do Dungeons, and in my spare time I like to PvP, while waiting fro dungeons/groups/when I have little time and want some action. BnS looks to deliver in all these departments. I also plan to casually play Black Desert online. I think I've realized I need 2 MMOs at a time in order to quench my boredom and keep me invested in playing.
I just cant wait Ia m so bored right now I don't know what to do with myself. Though I did pick up TERA and the Brawler class, new fun action combat to tide em over till BnS.

I am going to have to see if there is a recording of that and watch it! Once again I am on the same page as you, I am not into 1v1 PvP but love doing group based PvP.Eldaran wrote:I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us. Yup I watched the recording last night. Here is the link to their profile with all previously recorded streams.ZombieCat wrote:I am going to have to see if there is a recording of that and watch it! Re: In it for the long haul HOPEFULLY
honestly i've been pretty good at just playing the same game especially if i have a good group of people to do it with. I've been playing for most of the year on Project 1999 with 2 different static groups. I have a feeling we have a lot of good times and memories to be made coming in 2016.Anti Hero wrote:I hope you are all in for the long haul
