Little montage I made of accidental footage!(Rated M)

Hey guys, funny story... I recorded all of this on accident by pressing F9 (keybind for both fraps and arena in-game) and found out later that it completely filled up my 3TB extra HDD XD So now that CBT is over for a while I figured I'd just make a video out of it! If you happened to enjoy this leave a like or a comment below!

Fraps was dropping frames for some reason even though my game was not, so this video may have some of that. Sorry! Nothing I can do about it :/

This is my first attempt at editing anything period, so please leave suggestions or critiques in the comments whether it's about my editing, the game, the class, or my play. Thanks for watching! ^^

I'm going to post this on the BnS forums and hopefully direct some new members here if I can as well.

This video has swearing in it so I guess if that's a concern of yours you've been warned?

Nice compilation.

My only suggestions are showing more of some of the fights if possible. you show some starts then it jumps to the final combos without showing some of the play inbetween. Also in my personal opinion, I like seeing loses in vids too. It humanizes people, to me, in their videos. Obviously you want to showcase your wins, but close loses in well fought matches shows you aren't perfect and that you still play through loses and dont RAGE if you arent perfect. You had the close wins a few close loses would be cool too, to me.

Good choice in music. I was feelin it.

Very solid first editing attempt even trying to cover for the dropped frames (I am guessing that's where some of the cuts came in, that and very long matches).

Yeah the reason why I didn't show more elongated fights was because either 1. the frames were dropping in between so it looked ugly, or 2. the fights were SOOOO LOOOONG because of the assassin's hit and run playstyle, especially when I'm facing someone like a destroyer, summoner, or LBD.

If I had done no cuts for fights and shown the whole thing and the video was the same length, it probably would have only been about 2 or 3 fights which really isn't as much fun to watch. I remembered while I was making it that I had enjoyed fast paced videos with lots of cuts paired with hype music in the past because it gets that whole fast paced atmosphere going, and if I showed whole fights it would be hard to accomplish that.

But I will almost definitely make different types of videos (not only montages and such) where I show whole fights in succession in the future, that just wasn't the goal for this one :P Thanks for the suggestion though! It helps let me know what other people want.

Also in the future I'll try to incorporate more losses and such. My reasoning for picking the footage that I did was to showcase good plays or fast paced action, not quite to showcase my wins in particular. To be honest, since I was so low level, most of these matches against higher level opponents (which were the ones I tried to include, since beating low levels is no fun ;D) were either them stomping me or a really close match that I won. Though I will for sure get more footage of close losses later on when I actually intend to record what I'm playing XD

Thank you for the advice/comments, I'll try to improve for next time ^^

Small sidenote: most of this footage was when I was level 21-25 or so, and then it filled up my HDD so I couldn't showcase some of my play when I was level 26-30, which was when I really felt like I was improving the most, so I'm kind of sad about that. I plan on making another video or two next beta though so stay tuned :D

What software are you using to edit?

Just Adobe Premiere. I torrented it a long long time ago for some odd reason and it was handy so I used it. Pretty much learned it on the spot as I was editing, though it's not all that hard - just super time consuming if you don't know how to streamline your work and have to google every single thing you want to do XD

I want to use Adobe After Effects from now on for better transitions/effects but I'll have to find a copy to use or something. Premiere can get the job done alright but it's more work and doesn't look nearly as pretty.

Hey Vreezi, I misread your post originally as far as the official forums goes. In regards to using the video to plug Grievance, you need to re-edit the footage with a new soundtrack and remove the explicit text, or you can leave the video as is but remove the part about Grievance from your post. Your choice as to which option but one of them needs to happen ASAP. Thanks.

Thank you for fixing it. I'm not trying to stifle your creativity, the video just didn't jive well with Grievance standards. Outside of that it's a good video, keep up the good work.
