We have many members who have hit level cap already and many members who are still in the teens. Requesting that people constantly be in TeamSpeak isn't realistic because the constant chatter can distract from the game. I haven't gone through the whole story line and when I get to a new part in the story I like to know what is going on. As far as the main story line (Yellow quests) goes I'm nerdy that way.

That said, the TeamSpeak channel is slightly intimidating. There was one person, whose name escapes me at the moment (my apologies!), that on Saturday popped back and forth to ask if anyone wanted to run the lvl 20 dungeon. Aside from that, it seems you all know each other from other games, mostly Archeage. I try to talk and be social and answer questions when they come up (if I know the answers) but I'm mostly ignored. It's almost as if there's already a clique that has formed. If you want to remove me because I'm not "social" enough, go ahead. By all means, I won't take it personally. Especially if there's someone better suited for the spot. This particular experience is much different than what I have had with Grievance Neverwinter and Grievance ESO. It honestly has made me question if this guild is where I want to be for B&S.
You're right, always is perhaps a little extreme. I do the same as you, I like to listen to the cut scenes the first time, and read through the dialogue the first time as well and having TS chatter going on interferes with that some times (especially since I have volume control active so the game sound cuts out when someone talks). However, my comment stems from some (most?) of the other Grievance guilds where we've been expected to be in TS as much as possible while playing and always while doing any party/raid content with the guild.

This whole thing is stemming from our BnS clan (guild) having a size limit of 60 people. There's two more steps we can increase eventually to a total of 80 but that will require close to 1,000 gold plus a ton of other tokens and materials. I don't know about you but I haven't even seen one gold piece yet. If I remember right NWO and ESO both had much larger guild limits like a couple of hundred members to start off. We did start up a second clan though logistically I'm not sure how that'll play out in the long run; I haven't delved into what the clan infrastructure adds to your characters exactly but I believe it has an impact on crafting at the least.

Personally I don't know anyone (yet?) in the BnS guild from the previous Grievance games I've played, which is why I've been hanging out in TS trying to get to know some people. Every time I've played a game with Grievance I've met some new friends and am looking forward to that experience again with BnS. No one's telling anyone they have to leave the clan if you're playing with us, we just have to find some solution to the clan limit that keeps the guild strong as a whole. As intimidating as that main lobby may seem, it's our best opportunity to get to know everyone. I don't know about you, but there's so much chat spam going through on the screen while I'm trying to learn how to play I miss 99% of anything that may have been typed out.

Acerbic,

I can understand not wanting to use TS, I am also not big on it. By nature I am a pretty quiet person until I get to know someone. If you throw me into a group of strangers I tend to completely clam up. That said, I have found people in Grievance to go way beyond being helpful when I actually speak up. So much so I am pretty shocked by it given my past experiences in guilds.

I also have chimed in to answer questions as best I can but I have never felt ignored. I would say the majority of the time people thank me even if I am wrong. Honestly, I can't say what you should do but I would hang in there and get to know some more people before doing anything. There really are some great people here.

I think that the shyness is part of it. I am in introvert by nature, I think a lot of gamers are. I just don't remember it being so intimidating when I joined the Neverwinter guild ~2.5 years ago. That was probably because the lobby area didn't have 30+ people in it. LOL And ESO, there were a lot of Neverwinter guys that went so I sort of already had a comfort level there. With B&S I literally know nobody and like you said you toss in me a large group of strangers and I am pretty quiet. It's funny because I'm a teacher and you'd think I'd have no trouble talking in front of large groups of people. But I'd much rather stand in front of 100 people in a lecture hall than sit in vent with 20 people I don't know. LOL!

I appreciate everyone's comments. Not ignoring the others, I just quoted this one because I think he hit the nail on the head with the "large group of strangers" thing. I enjoy Grievance, it's been a great guild and the people are always pretty amazing. So I want to apologize to everyone if my post sounded b****y, it wasn't my intent.

Happy Gaming!

I am glad what I said helped :) Trust me I had a very very hard time trying to decide whether or not to apply to join Grievance. Everything I read about them said "Looks like a guild with their stuff together" but then it was the whole "Ugh. I do not know a single person there." After this weekend I am so very glad I did. :)

I'm with you bud. I don't do well speaking with a lot of people at once. Small VoIP channels like for grouping and raiding don't bother me too much, which is where I limit my TS useage. I don't auto login mostly because my pc is in an open space and my time online is dictated by two young ladies age 1 and 4. Also large groups just busting in as an introvert and stranger is super awkward for me and I guess being social on TS while my family is sitting 15 feet from me is super strange mostly.

anyway, just letting you know there's a lot of people who resist VoIP for different reasons.

Would it be possible to get a couple more B&S Party rooms? I don't tend to want to join the main channel, when I have checked there are 20-30 people in there. If we are doing a large guild event I'm happy to join up and coordinate with everyone. If I'm doing a dungeon or some other thing I would rather have the people involved in a channel so we can coordinate without other chatter.

I'm new to Grievance, I like the organization, and personalities. I'm happy to jump on TS and be available, switch into channels when partied and such... but my wife and I play in the same room so idle chatter is distracting from the kids who are also around us, the storyline, and our concentration. That is why we typically hang in channels with less than 20+ people if we are not part of a bigger clan wide event.

Thanks,
Dark
