So far, the best way which still isn't foolproof, is to take a shovel and bury a cache in the woods. Someone may still find it and rob it. Also, I died recently just placing where I wanted the cache. Reported the bug, because I was in fine health and simply died out of the blue.

We must have changed the combination. I couldn't find storage so I buried some metal in the woods. Hopefully I can hook up with a crafter/builder.

The new bulk changes make it slower to gather and build (more trips back and forth to the wilds) but I'll start making things again asap. Metal being the limiting factor to most things is 5x more bulk and you can't horde it on alts then go on a building spree anymore.

I did pick up a crowbar, which I've been hanging on to so that we can also harvest metal faster.
