As folks get to try this game, can we post/link/find basic crafting recipes? Love to know what I need for a bow.

for a basic bow you need a strip of cloth and a branch.

Re: Basic crafting?
Branches can be used as a basic blunt weapon.
I wandered the woods a lot. Pinkish brambles contain blackberries, which offer some water and food when consumed. As well as branches.
Wooden sticks are from small groups of white baby trees you can find in forests. Sticks make arrows. Arrows can be retrieved, but generally only after time has passed and the body disappeared. They have a rather fast drop rate once fired.
Tear your shirt up for cloth and you can generally make a bow early on.
Machetes are needed to harvest fat (oil) and meat from animals.
A flare can ignite a campfire or burning barrel...this will also attract undead.
Use a bottle during a heavy rain to collect dirty water. It still needs to be cooked.
Although I once searched a wrecked truck and found "nothing". I visually spotted an empty bottle in its bed and looted it.

Re: Basic crafting?
1 Stick: 2 discoveries
Wooden Arrow
Punji Stake
1 wooden stick will make 2 arrows
8 sticks to make 1 punji stake pit? (applies damage over time)(no idea on size)
Found on reddit: (haven't found the cloth to try myself yet)
6 Cloth -> Satchel (300 Capacity backpack)
2 Planks -> 4 Sticks
1 Metal Scrap -> 4 Metal Shards
1 Metal Shard -> 4 Nails
4 Nails + 4 Sticks = Backpack Frame
Backpack Frame + Satchel = Framed Backpack (1200 Capacity Backpack)
***Also, to cook food/purify water
You have to light the campfire, most likely dropping one of your flares near it early on
--Then you move the items you want to cook/purify into the campfire.
----Basically treat the camp fire as a container and move your items into it, and move the completed items out. You can't just use the craft button while standing near the fire.
