General Information

Post by Skalex » Sun Apr 20, 2014 10:46 am

I have no idea if this game will be any good or not but I have been casually watching it since it was announced.

There is a link on the website to the Redditt about it.

I will be playing this game as soon as it becomes available. It is being done by SOE and using the Planetside 2 engine and everything they are doing and state they are going to do makes me think this will be the go to game for survival mmos

I was excited for this game because they said the 'SWG players could finally come home' and I can't figure out why they think that with this game. Its not remotely similar and I see tons of griefing possible in what little I've heard about it. This one I think Ill pass on, other than EQ I think SOE has lost there touch for MMO's.

Yea I'm not sure why Smedley compared it to SWG either. I expect there to be an amount of griefing in this but any open world game with lots of player control will have that, even Minecraft has griefers in it. SWG had griefing often enough that they actually had to change how somethings worked to try to prevent some of it (dropping high end faction npc's on low level combatant characters anywhere in game comes to mind right off the bat, for those who do not know combatant status was pve and special forces status was pvp).

I will be playing it no doubt. I don't care too much about what people are saying about it being over hyped. FTP and the large scale play. And of course zombies. I'll be playing =)

I am also really thinking about getting the game next week. So if we get some Grievance members in the game hopefully we can all get together. This game wont be a main game for me, just something to do when I am bored with wow. I just hate the idea of paying to beta test a game but oh well, I love zombies.

I've heard that micro transactions will be out with the "buy into beta". Also, you have to purchase a ticket to try different game modes. I was watching it, too..as I played Day Z a bit with my 14 year old. However, DayZ's melee combat is very clunky, and I never lasted long enough to find a firearm. lol

I will watch this game a while before I purchase. To see what you all think. :)
