This was a good read. I'm curious how many folks have at least a little bit of trepidation considering how the combat system changes the core role functionality compared to tab-target MMOs. Some healers who are fantastic at managing mana and keeping health bars full may find they don't have as strong targeting skills and so will have a harder time initially. Other roles will face similar challenges. I know as primarily a DPS in past MMOs, even dodging the "bad" and staying out of the "fire" in a standard tab-target MMO won't quite compare to this (notable exceptions for other action-combat MMOs). The core tenet of "dead DPS do no damage" will be even stronger here and it's no longer enough to hit your buttons in the best order as quickly as possible when poor aim could cause you to miss any number of them.
All that said, I love action-combat and am really looking forward to release.

Like any skill, the more you practice the better you become. I might even enjoy healing for the first time in a long time.
