Wildstar: Memory could not be read error / crash
Posted: Mon Mar 24, 2014 5:21 am
Hi guys, I posted this on the official boards but am gonna post here as well in case someone knows what might have caused this:
I was wondering if anyone else has run into this issue this past weekend. Prior to this past weekend I hadn't ever had Wildstar outright crash like this. The game started to stutter some after I adjusted my graphics settings (the big one was turning down the fog distance so I could see the pretty landscape in the distance) and then BAM, crashed out with this big long error that was something about "The memory could not be read". It was the only time this weekend that it happened and after I logged back in it was running just fine again.
I'm running Win7 64-bit, a GTX680 as well as an i7 3820 proc with like 8GB of RAM I believe so it should be more than enough to handle Wildstar (I am able to run The Secret World on all the highest settings with no issues as well as pretty much any other game, zero crash issues ever honestly). Oh, and I am running the game off of a Crucial M500 250GB SSD.
If anyone could provide insight as to why this happened it would be greatly appreciated. Later on today I am going to update all my video drivers to make sure I'm on the safe side.
Thanks again!
