Rant about not being able to create an account +

Hi guys,

A very nice person gave me a Beta key for Wildstar, and all I need to do is activate my NC Soft Account... but I can't.

I get this message even after doing everything else perfectly (no "not long enough" errors, no "does not match" errors, no "you left a field blank" messages... hell, I even "read" the ToS and the Privacy Agr!)...

"There was an error creating your account. Please re-enter your account information."

I feel so terrible I can't use the precious (beta key). I wonder if I should give it back so someone else at least has the opportunity to play???

FYI-I do have GuildWars2 but no NC Soft account. I even tried to make like I had the account and had forgotten the PW, and although I didn't get the error I wanted ("hey dummy, you don't have an account") nothing else happened either.

So do any smart people have any tips for me, or else, thanks for listening to my sad story. I really wasn't coming expecting any answers, I mean, if I can't create an account at my age and experience with computers I think it's their fault, not mine.

I ran into this also a few weeks ago. The customer service guy said i should try turning off my fire wall, after doing that it worked, but i also did a full uninstall/reinstall too. Hope you get it to work soon

Thank you. I will do that when my IT guy gets done with his show (haha--hubby).

Use a different password. I had the same problem when creating my account. All I did was add an extra character at the end of my *cough* usual password, and it worked.

Did you manage to get your account created alright? I was reading on the official Wildstar forums that a lot of people were having this same issue this past beta weekend as well.

Having a Guild Wars 2 account does not directly mean you have a NCSoft account even though they are the distributor... The reason being, is that your Guild Wars 2 account is with ArenaNet and not NCSoft...

You'ld need to create a separate NCSoft account from what I understand...

I has a similar issue when I couldn't access my Guild Wars 2 account even though I could get into my NCSoft account with no issues... They are not directly linked... So I had to work with ArenaNet's support to get my account access working again with Guild Wars 2 after not playing it for a long while...

Well you are correct about what my problem was, Kemble. I had a PW with a capital, a numerical, and some regular alpha keys. Hubby was told to take down the firewall and he goes, which one?

So he didn't want to do that so he did another search (shoot, I was on that forum forever and found nothing useful) and he just did me up a hard PW on LastPass... worked like a charm! So much for my secret code (plus I followed their requirement to the letter and was jerked off by NC Soft! grrr)

So I did go to install WildStar today but it appears the Beta Key expired this weekend. I am so pissed off LOL. I am sure a ton of people out there were also rooked by NC Soft.

Oh well, it was neat to at least have the opportunity to see Wildstar! Tthanks to my new buddy Pokey for giving me the key, and to Tracey to always being so upbeat about trying WildStar. And to you good people of the Forums! :) :) :)

Glad I could help, hopefully you can get in and play around in the next beta.

Love it!

If you continue to have issues, get customer service involved sooner rather then later. They have been very prompt and professional in my experience.
