Heya out there..
Anyone of you ever played on a pvp-server?
I did and I liked the extra tension it gives.
I also hate the ganking, but sometimes I like to gank the other fraction aswell

I was wondering if there are anough pvp-server players in this Embassie (soon to be guild ) to start a guild on a pvp-realm?

I think i would miss the exitement of the possibility to be ganked, and to help a guildy who is getting ganked and see the whole match turn into a small world pvp battleground event.

I've attempted PvP Servers before in other games, and in most cases I ended up either moving to another game out of frustration or changing to a PvE server to avoid the frustration... Too many jerks in the MMORPG environment that like to roll over lower level players as higher level gankers... And it's all nice in theory for your friends to come to your rescue, but it doesn't always work out in your favor... And for me, because I can't stand it when it's done to me, I would never attempt it on others, it's just wrong in my book...

Now some games handle those sorts of issues well, like in Warhammer Online if you were a high level player and went to a lower level zone's open PvP areas, you would become a Chicken with low health, and one attack... Or in some games they may incur some sort of XP or other penalty for killing peeps too low for them to be PKing... But most of the time Gankers, they really don't care if they are penalized, it's more about the thrill of easy kills for them...

So for me, I play MMORPG's for the thrill of Co-Op PvE, with PvP as an occasional diversion maybe... If I wanted PvP all the time, i'ld go play a First Person Shooter or RTS...

The last true PvP game I enjoyed playing was Lineage 2. Open world PvP against anyone in the game. Once you put in factions, you then will become unbalanced as people that are on the loosing side will eventually either quit or reroll on the other faction. Best game example I have is Aion. Every server on that game is completely unbalanced. That is why I love how most games will now offer PvE servers with PvP battlegrounds. In there you at least have a really good chance to have decent fair PvP and not a total gank fest with spawn campers or quest mob campers. This was one of the reasons I joined Grievance in SW:ToR. They have a great time in PvE with raids and everything but also have a lot of members that would go and do the battlegrounds. LET'S PLAY HUTTBALL you Rottworms ^^
