For those interested in learning a bit about crafting

Here is a twitch tv stream that was endorsed by carbine. Ahnrez is one of the old school community, he has gotten to visit the team several times and has written about everything!
He put together a 3 hour stream about crafting. He rambles a bit and strays, but it is a decent picture of the crafting.

Based on the vids that I have watched, I really like the direction crafting is taking. Many games recently have lost the concept of specializing, and I am glad that seems to be a focus for these guys.

I've bever been a crafter but I've always wanted to get into it. The crafting in this game is sorta thrown at you and doesn't really describe (at least for me) how it works. I'm a noob to crafting so this video will help

I remember when you knew who the good crafters were, and you pretty much paid what the best wanted. Back in SWG I farmed savage quenker missions for 6 hours a day (I had lots of free time) for a month to buy two suits of armor from another player ...
This does not seem to go to that level, different quality materials and the like, but particularly in architect and technologist good crafters will become known (imo) ... at least I hope so. I'm planning on being a technologist specialized in power cores (Dominion side)

I do like that they seem to make it like a mini-game. Kinda like a puzzle. It might make it less tedious.

This is the first game in which I actually find crafting interesting. I like having to make choices. When everyone with the same profession as me can all make the same things as I can and make them just as well as I can - what's the point? Professions in that case just give you another list of things to grind. I like the fact that you can choose what goes into making the items, and that there are talent trees so that you can specialize even further.

True, looks to be lots of choice involved in how you craft things. Always a good thing.

Thank you for posting these links. The videos were very informative and helped solidify my own choice in characters.
I think I will be going: Chua/Esper/Settler/Architect/Survivalist
I love building house items so this is right up my alley.
