The census that was launched earlier this week is starting to show some good data:

Funny how the last 3 classes announced/revealed at the most popular atm. I'd be curious to see how that distribution changes once people have a better idea how things play.

Nice site!

I might be flipping to Esper if it remains the least played class at least to start they did look pretty awesome in the video.

Was looking at the census data today. there is only a 7% spread between lowest and highest. In reality, the classes are very well balanced. Also, keep in mind that this is with very few (relatively) people being able to get real hands on gameplay time with any of the classes. I strongly suspect these numbers will change drastically as people get hands on time with the game.

I'm always a little bummed when the class I was heavily leaning towards seems to be the most played : / looks like I might go with my second and go warrior

I wouldn't stake what class you want to play on a game that isn't even in open beta yet. As others have mentioned, people will change their minds when they get to play the game. This is especially true when you get to play the class yourself and not go off mostly what little they provide as info on the website and then show a small slice of the class in a stream.

I think the biggest thing you should consider when picking a class is do you want to heal or tank as a side option since they all can DPS. After that.. which type of weapon favors you better and at what range?
