MMORPG posted an article talking about Carbine's plans for keeping customers after they hit the level cap.

Decent article there. It bugs me a little to see so much negativity in the comments from people though, many of which decide not to take an opportunity to play a game because of individual issues they have.

I think some of the people complaining about 40 man raid content completely miss the point, whether by design or not. The 40 man raids appeal to people not just for being "hardcore" content, but for being something a larger community feels accomplishment from since it took so many people working together to enjoy. People seem to focus in on their complaints without ever understanding the joy it is to complete something with a larger group.

Even so, I think there's going to be tons of content to mess around with outside of just raiding. I hope more for good ongoing storyline. It will be fun to see if this new universe builds good Lore that the playerbase can really get into. The spawning of a brand new world always sparks my imagination and I love seeing all the new stories and dramas between characters and factions. My wish is that the writing be strong. That's where I get my kicks.

40 man raiding while annoying to coordinate is unbelievably fun and gratifying, IMO 40man is for raiding, 40man is real raiding. Do I have the time for it? No.

I remember the days when I did, I remember when I was in front line progression guilds for Molten Core & Black Wing Liar ... I raided up into Cataclysm WoW and aside from the ever running debate about difficulty of raiding in 10 vs 20 / 25 vs 40+ (IMO 10 is the least forgiving)
I always missed the rush of 40 man.

I really think Grievance will be particularly well suited to 40 man content, both pve and pvp. These days I am relegated to "viewable content" ie nerfed content or easier raids I really hope I can find time for Warfronts (maybe on the "C" team ?)

The people who say Wildstar will fail because it had 40 man content make me giggle, when WoW was hardcore it still had north of 6 million subscribers, that's verging on 100 million dollars per month, you don't even have to hold those numbers for that long before you are "in the black"

My personal opinion is that Wildstar will be a huge success, and I look forward to exploring Nexus with the rest of ya.

Eh i wouldn't take what most posters on MMORPG say seriously mostly it is a bunch of bitter vets that no game will ever satisfy...

This is coming from someone who is on the site all the time...I must be some sort of crazy!

Part nostalgia, part curiosity. That's what I feel about their 40-man raids. I'm skeptical about the long-term success but stepping into that first raid, the raid leader already losing his mind over the chatter in teamspeak and we haven't even pulled yet, healers checking their stuff quietly-already defeated just by looking at the dps, dps already talking smack to each other (if they haven't "accidentally" pulled trash), one tank is afk (only later to find out she's 14 and her mom caught her playing after bedtime), someone is always drunk, WHY IS THAT ROGUE NOT WEARING ANY PANTS?

Oh man, I'm so excited for the mayhem. :D :D :D :D

I am thrilled that they are putting great focus into level cap content. I usually am not bored by end-game (that's what alts are for, right?) but it's a wonderful bonus to have.

2 words, ready check.

I really hope they put in a ready check system as it will go a long way to saving time on prep...
