Not a big rap fan, but if it has to do with Wildstar I love it! lol
As I was watching this I was thinking. Wildstar was supposed to be released this year, and with only a little over 5 mnths left in the year, do you think that not having too much hype or new information coming out is a good thing, or possibly a sign that something is not quite right?
In my past experiences game companies were already onto a major hype at this point, ie: RIFT, ToR, Tera etc. I haven't seen much new info, or any of these videos they spoke about having a few months ago. They were supposed to have multiple videos (cinematics) to trickle out to keep the player base engaged.
Thoughts?

I was surprised that they slowed down on the news and tease trailers about different parts of the game. For a while they made it seem like the game was getting closer to release - maybe even an August release.
But this past month especially has almost slowed to a halt. The "getting into beta" hype has pretty much ended as people are giving up hope on getting a key - I don't know anyone who got in (probably at least one person in Grievance I hope but its very very rare). They also started hyping up 40 man raids but then said it won't be for months before it gets tested as they weren't ready yet. So that seemed to throw the summer release idea out the window for good.
I think they might feel they have more time now that TESO announced a pushback to 2014 for the PS4 game to release at the same time. But it definitely seems they're not competing with FFXIV, or they're giving it a few months to pick up the players who get bored of Final and want something new and different.

I sure hope they are at least targeting a fall release, but I would rather them take their time and push out a polished game.
I do hope they deliver. I have high hopes for this game.

I have a funny feeling this game slips to Q2 2014

I think people are reading too much into things. It's kind of a self created frenzy. Every forum about Wildstar is concerned that the updates haven't been as incredible the past few weeks despite the devs doing lots of gaming shows and not having time to update everybody on the new information. I always assumed that the game would be a fall/Xmas time release at earliest based on when the beta started.

Are there any perks to pre-order (if it's available yet)?

I don't think pre-orders are avalible yet. I'm not sure how much the conferences effect their work though. I mean its not usually the same guys as far as I can tell. Sometimes sure but for the most part it seems like Carbine is spreading the convention love.
We got a few boss videos (sort of) which is a step in the right direction. But I'm with Puddles, thinking next year sometime on this one. Whatever they blew up in the stress test really changed their outlook.

Elder Scrolls Online has postponed to Q2 (Spring) of 2014. A smart business move would be to beat that. The last I heard they are still on schedule for a Holiday 2013 release. I suspect Open Betas will start late September or October.
