I can completely understand the frustration. You've paid to play, not sit and stare at a countdown timer.

My suggestion is pretty much the same as the others. Wait it out for a little while longer. It sucks I know. I waited for 2.5 hours the other night(almost the entire free time I had). I pre-purchased for the early access, and for that entire period, I logged more queue time than played time.

There usually is a huge drop off once people have to start paying, so queue times will drop significantly once the payment period gets closer.

I understand there is the whole principle of the situation. Logging into a game that you paid for to NOT play doesn't really lend itself to warm-and-fuzzies. But we've all done this before, and we'll all probably do it again. I wear my launch day scars as a nerd badge of honor. They show determination in the face of long queue times and huge groups camping quest mobs in the starter zones. They show perseverance in the midst of class balance changes, exploits, and server crashes fixed and found every other day for the first months. They show loyalty (albiet sometimes brief) to devs and games that over promised and under delivered. And I keep coming back over and over because I know I can handle it. And I try and find others who can stand beside me to help block some of the poop splatter (or try and find the biggest guy and stand behind him).

Misery really does love company, and wouldn't it be more fun to sit on the front porch of your rocket house with your friends and spin tales of, "Remember that one time when it was a 9 hour queue? I look back now and laugh and laugh."?

And with that I'll leave with the standard battle cry of every pre-order player in the history of MMO's:

I'm not paying to be a beta tester!

Sorry it is frustrating Moe; it does sound like a standard launch. Can you leave your toon logged in? Run home at lunch to start the queue process?

The really wonderful thing is that the servers with queues will have a healthy population.

I do agree name reservations are handled poorly.

You'll be afk timed out after a while. I know you get kicked to the character selection screen, but because the queue timer shows up BEFORE that screen, I don't know if that means you've timed out on the server or not.

I remember when Aion launched. They didn't have an afk time out so people just never logged off. The queue time for my server at one point was like 200+ hours.

I remember Aion too. Think FFXIV had queues, GW2, etc.

Sounds like a good time to weight down a jump button and find a corner ;)

Ffxiv was the worse launch ever in my time. You didn't get a queue you got welcomed with "the world server is full, please try again later" and there was no disconnect so people could go afk and never get booted. My computer and ps3 wee both on for a week straight running those games so we could play. Ridiculous.

Feeling frustrated because of long queue times is obviously a normal response. However like many have already stated It is a very fun game and you should give it some time to work out the kinks.

I am not sure if any posts has mentioned something like this but you could always install Teamviewer on your PC and mobile device. When ever you are away and you think there will be a long queue to wait though, just log into your PC from your mobile device using Teamviewer. I think the only thing you have to make sure of is in your video options in Wildstar, set your screen to Bordless Windowed mode.

I just thought I would throw that in there. Hopefully it's somewhat helpful.
