Tradeskills

Has anyone seen any good trade skill guides? I was doing technologist earlier and it was asking me to make a serpentlily something or other and I couldn't find the schematic anywhere.

Nothing specific.

I'm still trying to figure out my path and tradeskills. I may end up going double gathering to make money. I'm been poking aroundin Houston trying to make an add-on that will swap to the correct tool when you try to gather a node.

I've seen a few guides floating about, but nothing too substantial...

I plan to go 2 gathering skills out the door, and then switch one out for a crafting at a later date... That way I can stockpile matts for crafting... Since I plan to build stuff for my in-game house, I know that I need matts from several gathering skills to craft with...

Cooking is a whole other beast entirely, that one you just need to kill a lot of animals and destroy plants for matts... No special gathering skill required to do that... Plus you need a bit of in-game money to level it up...

I really think that most bases will be covered, so I would personally go with what ever crafting or gathering you want for your own purposes... With as many members playing the game, we will have a plethora of crafters...

I was originally planning to go Architect before I ever even got involved in Closed Beta's... It was only after learning how it worked and what was needed that I learned that Architect was one of those crafting skills that eventually needed components from multiple gathering skills... So I could either gather on multiple characters, or just go 2 gatherings on my planned Architect toon and switch one out for Architect later on...

Unless something has changed, you can switch a Tradeskill (Gathering or Crafting) out once every 7 days and not loose progression on prior skills... It's just costly to do so...

It's not a guide, but Jabbitholeand Wild Heap list out schematics, where to get them, and what materials are required. Hopefully that will help you out until people make guides.

For those thinking about dual gathering, don't you need a separate gathering tool equipped for each? You'd be swapping out tools all of the time if that's how it works. Still doable I guess but kind of a pain.

How are the crafting professions in this game? The feel that I had was that the crafted good was worth more than the raw material cost or at least not less. If so, that'd be a change from most MMO's. Anybody know if that's the case or how the values of mats vs produced good compare?

Not sure if it's possible but I'd just make a macro to swap between tools, 1 click equips Tool A and click again and it equips Tool B.

If the tool swapping is so easy then maybe I'll go miner/survivalist. I usually pick a crafting profession to level as I level but I'm also usually very poor too.
