My First Sig!

Post by Ratero » Wed Jan 22, 2014 10:27 pm

Thank you for the template Moebius.

I did not have PhotoShop so I downloaded Gimp 2 which gave me issues working with the PSD template. So after looking at several Gimp 2 videos and messing around with the editor I managed to come up with this sig. I want to put in one of those "smiley bombs" in the sig soon and I may mess around with it some more but for my first attempt I think it turned out good.

Looks good! I got the template from Moebius as well, but haven't had much time to make a new sig yet.

I have to figure out how to crop it some without loosing the transparency. Currently the sig is a bit on the large side I think.

Keep working at it! btw Photoshop CC which is their cloud edition can be tried for free from adobe for 30 days no restrictions and you can actually pay monthly for the program. Might be something worth looking into if you're really interested in doing this a lot :)

Thanks!

I revised my signature again a bit and now it may be a bit to bright but the Chua stands out more and is more defined. I'm no Gimp 2 Guru and my template is most likely not as well laid out as most but it works for me. :D

Made a new one as well, using the template Moebius sent me, plus a few changes and tweaks here and there. Much better than my previous one - thanks again for that template, Moebius.

No problem, glad you guys are making good use of them, the signatures look pretty good.

P.S. And Ratero on the issue of your Chua image being too large, thats because you aren't using the layer masking that all the stock images came with. In order to to get that open up the folder for any of the race images that came with the template and you will see two things, one with the image and one that looks like it has white and black puzzle pieces. What you want to do is duplicate the layer, any of them will work, then select that layer highlight the image thats in there, then delete and paste the one you want into it to replace it. That should fix it where your Chua image doesnt cover up the bottom portion of the signature background.
