Hi all, Schrodinger here ( and yes I have a cat with that name)
I'm an older gamer, 56, and have played games since Infocom days. My first MMO was WoW right at launch. I played to lvl 85. I was a rogue for vanilla, but switched to Shaman (alliance) at 60 and to my surprise discovered I love healing. During my time at WoW I played with 4 guilds. The first was with The Older Gamers, but there was too much drama and a split occurred. Played with that guild until BC and with 25 man raids it split on EST/PST times. The third guild was great, until it merged with a harder core raiding guild and ran off some of the more casual raiders, who were also the really fun people. The last guild was very small (Thanks to Blizz and its 10 man raids) and no one was online except to raid...no fun there. My primary goal in finding a guild for Wildstar is NO drama. A family friendly guild that does raid but more on the casual side. Also one where I can make friends, some of whom will be online during my time zone to lvl, pvp, 5 man or just chat. If I'm going to invest in an MMO then I want to play with people who are fun to play and chat with. Warning...I love puns...they are the highest form of humor
I was considering playing with ToG, but most of the signups for Wildstar are Aussie which makes it hard to get together, unless I want to get up at 2:00 am. It was disappointing when SWTOR opened Oceanic servers and 3/4 of the Empire guild left. I'm PDT, but self employed so I can play EDT times as well. From everything I've read this looks like a guild I will fit with.
As I said I love healing and am looking strongly at the Medic. If I were to dps it would be as a stalker. Once a rogue, always a rogue.
As for other things, I practiced law for 17 years..then escaped and now own a small computer and network consulting company. I'm married (36 yrs), have three daughters and 3 grandkids. Besides gaming I play chess, love to read (mysteries, fantasy, SciFi, history and Science) , do some writing, and while I'm an avid indoorsman (odd duck in N. Idaho) I do try to get to the pool. I'm both a dog & cat lover.
I look forward to getting to know you all.
